SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM (PAPERS, ABSTRACTS)

The aim of the congress is to discuss the latest research findings in the field of applied linguistics. We welcome papers relevant to the topics of the congress: “Languages, language varieties, consequences” from all fields of applied linguistics.

Planned sessions:

applied onomastics, bi- and multilingualism, communication, computational linguistics and language technology, contrastive linguistics, discourse analyses, Finno-Ugric studies, grammar, Hungarian as a foreign language, Hungarian as a mother tongue, intercultural communication, language planning, language policy, lexicology and lexicography, linguistic minorities, linguistic rights, minority languages, mother tongue education, pragmatics, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, speech research, terminology, translation studies, etc.

Abstract submission:

- Abstracts can be submitted to categories: session presentations or workshop sessions.

- Session presentations are 20 minutes long (15 mins presentation + 5 mins discussion).

The abstract should be written in the language of the paper (from 100 to 250 words).

Structure: the title of the paper, theoretical background, research objective(s), hypotheses and method(s), preliminary or final results. Please do not include references.

5 keywords are required.

- Workshop sessions are 75 minutes long and include 4-5 presentations. The papers of the workshop are organised around one central topic. The abstract is submitted by the organiser of the workshop and should be no longer than 500 words. Structure: title of the workshop, topic, theoretical background, research objective(s) and methods, summary of the preliminary or final results.

- Abstracts can be submitted via EasyChair (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=manye28) between January 15 and February 4, 2021. Notification about abstract acceptance will be sent by February 25, 2021.

- The program committee reserves the right to decide on the classification of abstracts into sessions. - Registration is done in 3 steps: a) filling out the registration form; b) uploading the abstract according to the guidelines given on the website to EasyChair; c) transferring the registration fee, the account number will be shared in Circular 2.

- Cancellation: in case of cancellation before March 25, 2021, 50% of the registration fee will be refunded. No refund later than March 25.

- If you are a member of the Hungarian Association of Applied Linguists and Language Teachers (MANYE), you get a discount from the conference fee.
